PERSIA, Achaemenid Empire. Time of Artaxerxes III to Darios III, circa 350-333 BC. AE (Bronze, 13 mm, 1.61 g), uncertain mint in Ionia or Caria. Persian king or hero in kneeling/running stance to right, holding spear in his right hand and bow in his left. Rev. Two concentric squares; line projecting outward from one side of the outer square. Johnston, Earliest, Æ 4. Sunrise 72. Sharply struck and unusually attractive. The reverse struck somewhat off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
